There are only 11 days until Christmas so I figured it was about time to release my Christmas kit. I have one paper set, one embellishment set and a Quickmix being released.

In our neck of the woods the snow is getting deep so I have a Winter Fun kit to help record all our snow photos. I had so many things I wanted to cover in this kit that I ended up creating two embellishment kits. One for outdoor activities and one for general winter things (like sipping hot cocoa or beautiful hoar frost photos-one of my favs!).

These should release in the next week or so, watch the MM newsletter to find out when.

September Crop

Plans are well under way for the September crop here in Landmark. There are currently still a few spots open for anyone interested. See information two posts down.

Alana needs some feedback......

Alana is planning on starting her own business. She has two parts to this business, one she wants to give to charity (see below) and she also wants to start saving some money for the future. I am in the process of teaching her all the ins/outs of starting a business. One is seeing what your customers want or if there is a market for her business.

She is starting a do-it-yourself Plush Party business. Instead of going to Build-a-Bear she will offer cheaper prices (but quality plush animals) for parties or individual purchase. All her animals would be the same price and she would start with a variety of 6 (bear, crocodile, dog, lamb, elephant, cow). Her variety will grow as her business grows. Kids get to stuff their own bears and they come with a shirt. Also, if you wanted to add another element to your party you could purchase a pack of fabric markers for the kids to design their own shirt. Bears are easy to close up (zip tie close, then velcro shut - no sewing) Basically she will put together packs which would include the following:

• 16" plush skin (unstuffed animal)
• stuffing
• mini stuffed heart to put in animal
• t-shirt for animal
• instructions

Kids would stuff animals themselves and they are easy to close up in the back (zip tie and then velcro closing). She knows her costs, now she needs to figure out if people are willing to pay enough so she can make a bit of profit. :)

What would you be willing/like to pay for a package like this (in order for you to have a party like this the packs would need to cost....)?
I wouldn't do this for a party but I would purchase an individual pack at this cost _____.
Would you prefer a smaller 8" animal? If so what would be a reasonable price?
Would you like the option to add pants or a skirt for the bears for $3.50?
Would you like the option to add an outfit for the bears for $8.50?
Would you like a fabric marker included in a party pack so kids could decorate their bear t-shirts?
Considering the package price you put in above, would you do this for your child's party? Would you ever purchase individual bears?
Would you ever consider purchasing a bear for charity?

Part of her reason for doing this is that she also wants to donate some plush packages to charity (possibly inner city kids who would not regularly have the chance to do this). Some of her profits would go towards this, she would also have an adopt-a-bear program where people could purchase a bear (but not build it - the child it is going to would build it) for the charity, but the person who purchases the bear for charity could pick which bear they want to give.

Hope this all makes sense. She appreciates your feedback, it will help her decide how to move forward.

Fall Crop Date Booked!

I have had a few inquiries regarding a fall crop date. I am pleased
to announce I have booked a location for September 17 & 18, 2010.

This year the fall crop will be held in Landmark, MB. Landmark is
only 20  minutes from the Winnipeg (Hwy. 59) perimeter, it takes me
30-35 minutes from St. Vital Centre.

The crop will be held at the Prairie Rose EMC, times are as follows:

Friday      5pm - midnight

Saturday    9am-9pm

Cost:

Friday & Saturday    $35

Friday only          $18

Saturday only        $25

Food:               $10 extra

(this includes lunch & supper on Saturday)

You are also welcome to bring your own food. We have access to a
large fridge if you need to store something and a microwave to heat
things.

Crop includes:

Door prizes, small welcome gift, sketch game with prizes, 4' of
cropping space per person, use of fridge/microwave, and you can leave
your stuff overnight!!

Retirement Sale - Grab it before it is gone!!

I have decided to retire from Elemental Scraps. I love the store, but they have decided to go exclusive with most of their designers and that isn't what I want right now. Selling at Memory Mixer

I am so excited to announce that I am now selling my kits at Memory Mixer!! I'll be releasing several of my current kits and new quickpages over the next couple of months.

I started using Memory Mixer software two years ago and loved it. My daughter now uses it and loves it too! If you are looking at getting into digital scrapbooking I would suggest Memory Mixer software. It is easy to use and learn. Artscow is having an upgrade right now so the album is showing up with the words "empty" on it. This is supposed to be fixed by April 23. If you have any questions about Artscow please post in the comments section and I will try to answer them.

**Please note that you have to use the kit in the Artscow software. This is not a kit you can download onto your computer. I have been very happy with my Artscow albums and will continue to print there. Currently I have printed 3 8x8 albums and 2 12x12 albums. I think I will try the new 9x7 next.

New Kit at Elemental Scraps

New Template Set & Easter Kit

The first person I used was Anneofalamo at DST. I turned 4 of her layouts into templates. The first two I turned into double page layouts and the others into single. So, in this pack you get 6 pages, 2 double pagers and 2 single pagers.

Can I turn your layouts into a template set?

I LOVE creating templates. I have lifted a bunch of my own layouts but I wanted to venture out and expand my horizons! If you would like the chance to have some of your layouts turned into templates leave a post here with a link so I can check out your gallery. Please note that I can only use layouts that you created yourself, you cannot have lifted the layout from someone else, it has to be your page design.

What do you get out of it? If I choose your layouts to lift you will get:

1) $10 gc for my store to purchase whatever you want
2) Template pack created from your layouts
3) Credit that you are the layout creator
(i.e. Templates created from layouts by "yournamehere")
